The Chicago Cubs have had to shuffle their pitching after the injuries to Tyler Chatwood Jose Quintana plus the schedule of multiple doubleheader games this week with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Cubs pitching coach Hottovy said to the media Tuesday that Chatwood is scheduled to see a orthopedic specialist for an opinion on his back issue.

"I think he is doing better but obviously frustrated that he had the issue creep up. He felt better and it got worse the next day," he said.

"Hopefully, in the next day or so we'll have a good indication where he is."

Until they hear back on that, obviously there is no timetable for return. Chatwood's last start was August 6 and it doesn't sound real good on a quick return to the mound.

In other pitcher injury news, Jose Quintana will have a bullpen session today and could next pitch with the Cubs in the next week.

"He is feeling better every time out, Hottovy said.
