WATCH: Bryant cites fans, weather as inspirations for walk-off home run |
After hitting a walk-off 3-run homer to give the Chicago Cubs a 5-2 victory over the Miami Marlins at Wrigley Field on Tuesday night, superstar Cubs third baseman
Kris Bryant had an inspiration response in his postgame press conference when asked about his motivation for hitting the walk-off blast.
"Who wants to come to sit through a 3 1/2-hour baseball game when it's 35 degrees out?" Bryant rhetorically asked the media. "Cubs fans. That's who." "We can't say enough about them," Bryant said when elaborating on what the Cubs' faithful supporters mean to him and his teammates. "They show up. They're there cheering us on, and, as a player, I truly appreciate that."
