WATCH: Bryant makes opposing base runner look silly for testing his arm |
CHICAGO — Colorado Rockies first baseman Ian Desmond strangely opted to tag up at first base and attempt to make it to second base on a routine flyout in the seventh inning of Tuesday's Wild Card Game. After hitting a leadoff single, Desmond nullified his hit by getting thrown out by Kris Bryant of the Chicago Cubs soon afterward.
Starting in left field on the night, Bryant, a third baseman by trade, showed off his trademark cannon by firing a strike to Cubs second baseman Daniel Murphy. Murphy applied the tag on Desmond, who tried to dodge Murphy with a swim move on his slide, and the out was recorded. Perhaps, Bryant will command more respect when playing in the outfield in the future. No chance. ??#WildCard pic.twitter.com/NFtvesNZOL
