WATCH: Contreras skies 419-foot moonshot for his ninth homer

Last year, Chicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras did not hit his ninth home run of the season until August 1, and the backstop hit just 10 home runs over the course of the entire regular season. This year, Contreras smacked his ninth home run nearly three months earlier, with a 419-foot moonshot against the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday providing him with home run number nine.

Sending a sinker thrown by Cardinals starter Adam Wainwright into the seats beyond right-center, Contreras drove the dinger out at 106 miles per hour. The high, arcing shot sported a launch angle of 32 degrees and provided the Cubs with a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second.
