Cubs utility infielder David Bote hoping to bypass that sophomore slump that happens a lot in the major leagues.

Bote smacked an opposite-field homer on a 2-1 count that went 379 feet in the fifth inning against the Diamondbacks on Saturday afternoon. Statcast had the homer with a velocity of 105.3 MPH off the bat.

He is currently hitting a sizzling 11-for-45 with two homers and 8 walks this spring.
