WATCH: Highlights from Cubs' series-clinching win over Brewers

CHICAGO, Ill. — For the first time since 2008, the Chicago Cubs (24-14) have won eight straight series, as the North Siders defeated the Milwaukee Brewers (24-18) 4-1 to take two of three from them in the 3-game set at Wrigley Field. Kris Bryant was the leading hitter for the Cubs with a 3-for-4 plate performance that included a 2-run home run.

Bryant's seventh-inning blast provided the Cubs with some breathing room, setting up the eventual final score, and it elicited plenty of excitement from the Mother's Day crowd, despite the dreary, rainy night in Chicago. Also helping Chicago's cause was pitcher Jon Lester, who gave up just one run in an efficient start that lasted 6 2/3 innings.
