CHICAGO — With Willson Contreras and Ben Zobrist back in the starting lineup, the Chicago Cubs (75-63) toppled the Seattle Mariners (58-82) in the finale of the 2-game set at Wrigley Field on Tuesday. As a result of their 6-1 victory, the Cubs swept the 4-game season series versus the Mariners.

Finding "water, water everywhere nor any drop to drink," the Mariners squandered multiple auspicious scoring opportunities en route to finishing 2-for-11 with runners in scoring position. Meanwhile, the Cubs hit three home runs, including a solo bomb from Contreras, and were led by Kyle Schwarber, who went 3-for-3 at the dish.
