WATCH: Highlights of Cubs' come-from-behind win, featuring David Bote's go-ahead dinger

by - Senior Writer -

CHICAGO — Snapping a four-game losing streak, the Chicago Cubs (14-7) won the nightcap of day-night doubleheader on Monday, with the St. Louis Cardinals (5-5) coughing up a late three-run lead and falling 5-4. The Redbirds won Monday's first contest 3-1 but were victimized by a pinch-hit home run off the bat of David Bote on Monday evening.

Stepping up to the plate as a pinch hitter with two outs, two men on and the Cubs trailing by two, Bote crushed a 434-footer out to straightaway center at Wrigley Field. The three-run blast, which was part of a four-run sixth inning for the Cubs, put the North Siders ahead 5-4. Chicago came out on top in the seven-inning affair, and Bote's dinger was the main reason why.
