CHICAGO — Collecting 14 hits and putting together a solid 4-for-8 plate performance with runners in scoring position, the Chicago Cubs (60-51) downed the Milwaukee Brewers (57-56) 7-2 at Wrigley Field on Sunday. As a result, the Cubs earned a 3-game sweep and increased their lead in the standings over the Brew Crew to four games.

Yu Darvish started on the mound for the Cubs and, despite battling an illness, performed well in his five innings pitched, as he gave up just one run while fanning eight. Offensively, the Cubs were incited by a first-inning home run from outfielder Jason Heyward, who recorded three RBI on the afternoon. Fellow Cubs outfielder Kyle Schwarber also smacked a solo bomb, and Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo went 4-for-5 at the dish.
