CHICAGO — With the first web gem of the Chicago Cubs' second half of the season, Cubs right fielder Jason Heyward laid out for an impeccable catch on Friday. Preventing Pittsburgh Pirates catcher Jacob Stallings from coming up with a hit, Heyward went to the ground for a tumbling grab.

The spectacular play in the top of the third drew an appreciative salute from Cubs starting pitcher Yu Darvish. In response to Darvish's expression of gratitude and the Wrigley Field fans' raucous reactions, Heyward tipped his cap in acknowledgment.
