WATCH: Javier Baez hits second dinger of game with 2-run basket shot |
CHICAGO — For the second time on Monday night, Chicago Cubs shortstop
Javier Baez went yard against the Oakland Athletics. Putting the Cubs up 6-2 with a 2-run jack that landed in the basket atop the center-field wall at Wrigley Field, Baez picked up his 28th long ball of the season.
The 384-footer smacked by Baez was the second dinger given up by A's reliever Blake Treinen in the seventh inning, as pinch hitter Ian Happ led off with a homer. Baez's 2-out bomb, which plated Nicholas Castellanos, left the bat at 96 miles per hour and 33 degrees.
