CINCINNATI — Down to his last strike with two outs in the sixth inning, Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez came through by swatting an RBI double to deep left field on Sunday. The 2-bagger one-hopped the wall and plated Cubs center fielder Jason Heyward from first base.
Facing an 0-2 count, Baez connected on a slider thrown by Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Luis Castillo for the Cubs' first extra-base hit of the afternoon at Great American Ball Park. Baez increased his RBI total to 80 by way of the double and also made the score 3-1 in favor of the Reds. Two strikes. Two outs. El Mago delivers.
