CHICAGO — For decades, wishful-thinking baseball fans have brought their gloves along with them to parks, hopeful that they would have the chance to snag a foul ball or, better yet, a home run. Of course, the glove-toting is typically done in vain, but, every now and then, it pays off.

And it paid off for one young fan at the Chicago Cubs' Sunday afternoon matchup with the St. Louis Cardinals, as he snagged a foul ball hit by Cubs left fielder Kyle Schwarber. Making the catch in the midst of a crowd of other eager Cubs fans, the boy flashed the leather with a fantastic catch.

After pulling off the snag, the passionate Cubs supporter wore his excitement on his sleeve, high-fiving practically everyone within arm's reach and wearing a million-dollar smile on his face. After all, his decision to don his mitt garnered him a souvenir and a memory that he will cherish for a lifetime.
