WATCH: Kris Bryant lofts towering 2-run blast at Petco Park |
SAN DIEGO — Having played his college ball for the San Diego Toreros, Chicago Cubs third baseman
Kris Bryant relived his former glory in the city of San Diego by going yard at Petco Park on Tuesday. Getting underneath a curveball, Bryant lofted a 2-run home run against the San Diego Padres that plated former Padres and current Cubs first baseman
Anthony Rizzo.
The 381-foot dinger to left field marked Bryant's 27th long ball of the season and pulled the Cubs to within one run of the Padres. Making the score 6-5 in the top of the fifth, the moonshot off Padres starter Ronald Bolanos boasted a launch angle of 31 degrees. #KBoom!@KrisBryant_23 brings the #Cubs within a run! #EverybodyIn pic.twitter.com/po88U9YNWv
