CINCINNATI — Preventing the Chicago Cubs from getting shut out in his home state, Cubs left fielder Kyle Schwarber hammered a solo blast in the ninth inning on Saturday night. The dinger at Great American Ball Park made the score 10-1 in favor the Cincinnati Reds.

Schwarber's 27th home run of the season, the leadoff bomb off Reds reliever Sal Romano sailed 406 feet out beyond center field. The round-tripper by the Ohio native left the bat at 107 miles per hour and boasted a launch angle of 29 degrees.
