CHICAGO — With his MLB-leading 51st double of the season, Chicago Cubs right fielder Nicholas Castellanos came through with the bases loaded and put the Cubs up 3-0 over the Pittsburgh Pirates at Wrigley Field on Saturday. Smacking a 3-run 2-bagger to left field, Castellanos increased his RBI total as a Cub to 33.
The bases-clearing double occurred with two outs in the bottom of the second, as Castellanos connected on a changeup thrown by Pirates starter James Marvel. Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo was able to barrel his way around the basepaths and score from first base, thus providing the Cubs with a 3-run lead.
