CINCINNATI — Not even a broken bat could slow the red-hot Ian Happ down on Thursday, with the Cubs utility man smacking a 2-run broken-bat home run against the Cincinnati Reds. The seventh-inning jack put the Cubs up 9-5 and increased Happ's season RBI total to 10.

Happ skied a 365-foot shot to right field that cracked his bat and plated Cubs center fielder Albert Almora Jr. Earlier in the contest at Great American Ball Park, Happ, who has been on fire lately, tallied a 2-run single.
