WATCH: Victor Caratini swats two-run jack for his first long ball of season |
CHICAGO — Marking the fourth home run of the night for the Cubs,
Victor Caratini powered a two-run shot out to right at Guaranteed Rate Field on Friday for his first long ball of the season. Coming in the top of the sixth, the dinger increased the Cubs' lead to 7-0, with all seven runs being scored via homers.
Batting from the right side of the plate, the switch-hitting Caratini went "oppo," swatting the third opposite-field dinger of the game for the North Siders. Chicago White Sox reliever Gio Gonzalez gave up the jack on a full count, with Caratini sending a 91-mph sinker into the Cubs' bullpen. Billy Hamilton, who pinch ran for Kyle Schwarber, scored on the play. .@VictorCaratini hits the 4th #Cubs home run of the night! pic.twitter.com/yW8lo74dOa #Cubs 7 @ #WhiteSox 0 [T6-0o]:
