All-Star game should have high rating with 7 Cubs

by - Senior Editor -

It is no secret that the Chicago Cubs is one of the most popular franchises in all of professional baseball.

The seven Cubs All-star selections should propel the 2016 All-Star game to have great television rating as most Chicagoans will be eagerly waiting the game.

Cubs All-Stars include first baseman Anthony Rizzo, second baseman Ben Zobrist, shortstop Addison Russell, third baseman Kris Bryant, outfielder Dexter Fowler, and pitchers Jake Arrieta and Jon Lester.

"We went up (35 percent in Chicago) with only one Cubs player (Rizzo) in the starting lineup last year," said Mike Mulvihill, executive vice president for research, league operations and strategy for Fox Sports told the Chicago Tribune. "We have a lot of expectations and optimism with the Cubs being such a big part of this year's game."
