Dodgers announce their Game 1 starter for NLCS |
Los Angeles Dodgers manager David Roberts announced on Friday evening that right-handed rookie pitcher Kenta Maeda will start game one of the National League Championship series against the Chicago Cubs on Saturday night.
Maeda was 16-11 with a 3.48 ERA with 179 strikeouts and a 1.14 WHIP this season. He struggled in Game 3 in the divisional round against the Washington Nationals giving up four runs in only three innings. He was fifth in the National League with 16 wins. Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw got the save in the clinching game in the divisional win against the Nationals so he will more than likely be the game two starter for the Dodgers. .@Dodgers RHP Kenta Maeda to start in Game 1 of #NLCS at Cubs on Saturday, manager Dave Roberts announces. pic.twitter.com/yMlm4nldMY
