ESPN, Cardinals investigating alleged racial slurs at Heyward |

Chicago Cubs right fielder Jason Heyward finally had his much anticipated return to Busch Stadium after spurring the Cardinals during the offseason and signing a 8-year contract with their rival Cubs.
However, his return to St. Louis was tainted with Cardinals fans strongly booing and were allegedly using racial slurs according to the New York Daily News. ESPN told the Post-Dispatch that they were reviewing the game audio to determine if any slurs were heard during the live broadcast on Monday night. Heyward did not say anything about racial slurs after the Cubs 5-0 win. “If somebody boos me here, that means they were not happy to see me leave,” Heyward told ESPN. “I'm kind of glad that people weren't happy to see me leave. ESPN needs to be *very* careful with opening up their crowd mics. There are absolutely nasty things being said right now towards Heyward.
