Is 'Embrace The Hangover' the new Cubs offseason slogan? |
The Chicago Cubs won their first World Series win since 1908, and Cubs manager started the season with his brilliant slogan 'Embrace the Target' in spring training.
“Joe will do a great job of that,” general manager Jed Hoyer said during the GM's Winter meetings. “I think that ‘Embrace The Target’ was in hindsight really brilliant. He looked at it like: ‘We’re going to be the favorites. We have to embrace it.’ I think he’s going to figure out the right tone to ‘Embrace The Hangover.’” This slogan is unmistakably a reference to all the celebrations that the Cubs players and the City of Chicago has been doing since the lifting of the Billy Goat curse and the 108-year title drought. The fun is in the winning and Maddon knows that the players should play loose and have fun.
