Chicago Cubs shortstop Javy Baez along with a few teammates will be wearing No. 21 on Wednesday night to honor Roberto Clemente as MLB celebrates the iconic star.

Baez spoke to the media Wednesday and said he was excited and honored to wear the No. 21 jersey.

"Really excited man, he said. "Once everybody found out that some of the players were going to wear No. 21, everyone wanted to wear it. A lot of people are talking about retiring it. It's a pretty big number. It will be a honor to wear No. 21 tonight.

Baez had the following message on social media about wearing the special jersey.

"Darvish, Vic, J-Hey & I are honored to wear Clemente’s no. 21," he posted. "The entire team has Clemente in their hearts & on their minds on this special day. As influential as Clemente was on the field, he was even more impactful off it, touching so many people’s lives."
