Some in baseball circles suggest trading the young talented slugger Schwarber to the American League where he would feast on pitching for a decade or more as a designated hitter. In 2015, Schwarber hit .246 with 16 home runs, 43 RBIs with an outstanding .842 OPS in only 69 games (273 at-bats) in his rookie season. The missing link for a World Series title for some Cubs fans will be to bolster the relief pitching and the Yankees still have relief star Andrew Miller. "In theory, a deal that swaps Miller for injured 23-year-old slugger Kyle Schwarber makes a ton of sense," NJ.com said. "The Cubs wouldn't give up anyone helping their current team in pursuit of a World Series and would add one of baseball's best relievers. Meanwhile, the Yankees would get a bat, even if he's ticketed for a career as a designated hitter, that could thrive in the Bronx for years." ESPN's Buster Olney projected recently that the Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Dodgers, Texas Rangers, Seattle Mariners and Washington Nationals could all have heavy interest in the elite left-hander.
