The entire Major Leagues wore #42 on Friday to honor Hall-of-Famer Jackie Robinson on the annual Jackie Robinson Day.

However, Chicago Cubs right fielder Jason Heyward decided to take it one step further by wearing special gold Nike cleats in honor of one his baseball idols.

Robinson made his MLB debut as the 1st African-American MLB player on this date back in 1947 and the #42 number was retired by all of Major League baseball in 1997.
