Report: Cubs will not add Josh Reddick

Monday's non-waiver Trade Deadline will expire this afternoon, and the Cubs are still in talks with ballclubs to acquire a young, controllable starter to add depth in their starting rotation and a veteran outfielder if the costs are not too expensive.

However, the Cubs are no longer in the running with the Oakland A's for right fielder Josh Reddick according to multiple reports.

For the season, the left-handed hitting Reddick is batting .296 with eight homers, 28 RBIs, and a .368 on-base percentage. He is a career .255 hitter with 93 home runs, 336 RBIs, and an on-base percentage of .317 and won the Gold Glove Award back in 2012.

Theo Epstein originally drafted Reddick, but he was traded to Oakland after Epstein left the Red Sox.

The 29-year old outfielder will be a free agent after the 2016 season.
