The Chicago Cubs will be calling up veteran right-handed pitcher Joel Peralta from Triple-A Iowa on Monday according to multiple reports.

Peralta will reunite with former manager Joe Maddon, who he had a successful four-year stint with in Tampa Bay. The Blue Jays and Royals also had an interest in the 40-year old reliever and this will make the 8th different team that Peralta has played for.

He is a flyball pitcher with a fastball, slider, and a changeup who is tougher against left-handed batters.

In 2016, Peralta had a 5.40 ERA with 11 holds, 28 strikeouts, and two blown saves with the Seattle Mariners. For his career, he has a 4.00 ERA with fifteen saves, 169 holds, and 607 strikeouts.

Geraldo Concepcion will be reportedly be sent down to the minors to make room for Peralta's spot on the roster.
