Report: Cubs in trade talks with Detroit

Tony Crumpton Tony Crumpton - Senior Editor -

The Cubs have made a few bold moves this offseason with the acquisition of elite closer Wade Davis, Caleb Smith, and reported signing of Koji Uehara.

However, it appears that management is not done trying to restock the cupboard with talented pitching for the Cubs.

The latest news on Monday from MLB insider Jon Morosi is that the Cubs have been in contact with the Detroit Tigers on their lefty reliever Justin Wilson in a possible trade.

Wilson had a 4.14 ERA with 25 holds, a save, 65 strikeouts, and 1.33 WHIP this past season. For his career, he has a 3.28 ERA with 258 strikeouts and 1.23 WHIP.

He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the fifth round (#144th overall) in the 2008 MLB draft.
