Roger Clemens: "The Cubs fans have a reason to be excited" |
Former 11-time All-Star and 7-time C.Y. Young Award winner Roger Clemens is a fan of the Cubs, manager Joe Maddon and especially the pitching excellence of Jake Arrieta and Jon Lester.
"I love their manager first and foremost," Clemens said of Joe Maddon via WNDU-TV. "He's what makes everything go. They have some great athletes that are coming together--young and veteran. When you have a starter like [Jake] Arrieta at the top--a guy who can win 20 games like our game in Houston Keuchel did last year. You have a guy that's going to win 20 and then you have a guy that's going to be right behind you in Lester. Jon's a powerhorse. He wins 17 or 18, you're in the dance, you're in the playoffs, you're going to be playing when the lights are the brightest. The Cubs fans have a reason to be excited."
