WATCH: Heyward re-working his swing in Arizona

by - Senior Editor -

Cubs right fielder Jason Heyward won another gold glove award this past season but had a dismal year at the plate.

Heyward batted .230 with seven homers, 49 RBIs and .306 on-base percentage in 2016. He has been working hard with Cubs mental skills coordinator Darnell McDonald who posted a short video of Heyward's progress on remaking his swing during the offseason in Arizona for the 2017 season.

As you can tell by the following comparison video, it's a shorter swing path through the zone so hopefully he will be able to catch up with more fastballs than in 2016.
