Four Bears starters absent at Bears OTAs

The Chicago Bears kicked off their organized team activities (OTAs) on Tuesday, providing an opportunity for players to come together and begin preparations for the upcoming season.

However, several key players were absent from the practice at Halas Hall.

Cornerback Jaylon Johnson, safety Eddie Jackson, wide receiver Darnell Mooney, and guard Nate Davis were notable absences.

"This is a voluntary time for all the players,” Eberflus said. “Some players have certain things going on. It's their right to be here or not be here."

Eberflus acknowledged that some players may have personal matters that prevent them from attending.

As a result, the absence of Jaylon Johnson, Eddie Jackson, Darnell Mooney, and Nate Davis should not be a cause for immediate concern.

It is worth noting that both Eddie Jackson and Darnell Mooney are recovering from injuries.

Jackson is rehabilitating a Lisfranc injury, while Mooney is returning from a serious ankle injury.

It remains unclear whether their absences from OTA practice are directly related to their injuries or if other factors are at play.

Veteran minicamp on June 13-15 at Halas Hall will be mandatory.
