Tony Crumpton Tony Crumpton  ·  Senior Editor ·

Winners of 12 of their last 15 games, the Chicago Cubs arrive in Atlanta to begin their final series at Turner Field, a three-game weekend set with the Braves and the middle stop of a 10-day, nine-game, trip that began this week in Philadelphia (2-1) and concludes next week in Washington D.C. This road trip began a stretch in which the Cubs play 23 of their final 33 games leading to the All-Star Break on the road.

First baseman Anthony Rizzo was a late scratch from the lineup this evening with lower back tightness. Chicago officials say he will be listed day-to-day right now.

Cubs Lineup vs Braves:

Dexter Fowler CF

Jason Heyward RF

Kris Bryant 3B

Ben Zobrist 2B

Miguel Montero C

Javier Baez 1B

Addison Russell SS

Albert Almora LF

Jason Hammel P

Hammel tonight makes his 12th start of the season and his seventh on the road … his 2.14 ERA ranks third on the team, yet in the top 10 in the majors … owns a 2.23 ERA (9 ER/36.1 IP) in six road games and a 2.03 ERA (6 ER/26.2 IP) in five starts at Wrigley Field … has pitched at least 6.0 innings in eight of his 11 starts this year
