Everyone knows that Jake Arrieta is a fantastic pitcher. However, he is an underrated hitter that shows tremendous power when he connects with the ball. Arrieta has the longest home run by a pitcher this season at 442 feet.

San Francisco Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner has said recently that he would like to participate in the 2016 home run derby.

"If he's in it, I need to be in it," Arrieta said to reporters after the 8-2 win over the Atlanta Braves. "That's for sure. He can hit the ball a long way, but I can too."

Arrieta has three homers, four doubles and two triples in his career but still isn't satisfied with his power numbers.

"I said I was going to hit five this year, so I have a ways to go," Arrieta said. "I think it would be interesting and add another dynamic to the All-Star Game. I'd love to hit in it."
