This is not great news for the Cubs.
Standout Kris Bryant left Sunday's game against the Reds in the sixth inning after a collision with Jason Heyward on a flyball in right field. The ball ended up dropping in play, and it added another run on the score for the Reds as they have took a commanding 7-0 lead at Wrigley Field. Bryant was seen by the trainer and Joe Maddon and eventually walked off the field very gingerly with their apparent upper body injury. Albert Almora Jr. came into the game to replace Bryant and Heyward moved over to right field after the collision. No official word yet from the Cubs on an injury update as we don't want to speculate on the injury. We will keep you updated once we hear more information concerning KB's injury. Update: Bryant was not available to the media following the game. He was currently going through injury evaluation. However, he has been cleared to fly to Houston with the team. Hopefully, he was just shaken up on the play, and there will be no issues moving forward. Bryant has been playing fantastic of late including a .400 average with a homer and three RBI in the last seven games. For the season, he is batting .288 with 12 homers, 34 RBI, and a .411 on-base percentage. Jason Heyward and Kris Bryant collide while chasing a fly ball, leading to Bryant leaving the game with an injury.#Cubs trail #Reds 7-1: https://t.co/nkuuWEoOxg pic.twitter.com/F1HzAjm2C9
