by - Senior Editor -

It's an end of a 'Hats to the left' era on the North Side.

Former Chicago Cubs reliever Pedro Strop has reportedly signed a one-year deal worth $1.825 million with the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday.

With incentives, the deal is worth up to $3.5 million.

Strop took to social media after the signing announcement to say thank you to the city of Chicago and Cubs fans everywhere.

"These last 6 1/2 years with the Chicago Cubs have been a memorable and exciting time in my career," he posted on Instagram. "I want to thank ownership, Theo, Jed, my former teammates, and especially all of the fans in the wonderful city of Chicago for your support throughout these years. These years will forever mean a lot to me. THANK YOU CHICAGO!"

Stop appeared in 411 games over the past seven years in Chicago, pitching to a 2.90 ERA, struck out 425 batters in just 373 innings, and had 29 saves.
