Weather delay halts Cubs' clash with Brewers

CHICAGO — On the night after the series opener between the Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers was rained out, a weather delay halted the nightcap of Tuesday's doubleheader at Wrigley Field. With lightning in the area and heavy rainfall on its way, play was stopped in the third inning.

The grounds crew unfurled the tarp with one out in the top of the third and the Brew Crew and North Siders in a scoreless tie. The seven-inning affair follows a 4-2 victory tallied by the Brewers over the Cubs in the afternoon installment of the doubleheader.

UPDATE: Play resumed after a weather delay that spanned over an hour and a half.
