Cubs News: Kris Bryant discusses idea of playing with no fans because of Coronavirus

by - Senior Editor -

Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant spoke with the media Wednesday and was asked about the possibility of him and his teammates playing baseball without fans watching in the near future.

"I don't think it will be the same at all," Bryant said. "We feed off the fans. We feed off the energy. Being at home, Wrigley Field is such a home-field advantage for us. It's certainly weird but if that is where we are going, then obviously we are all coming together on this and figure out the best solution. It's people's safety and health is the most important thing. We have to find a way to not put people in jeopardy, that's what I'm all for."

Bryant understands that the timeline is evolving and hopes that baseball looks out for their fans.

"Baseball’s in a different spot just because we haven’t actually started our season yet, so MLB and everybody can really nail this. I don’t know what’s on the table – no fans, delay the season. I just think people’s safety is the utmost importance right now."
