Cubs News: Kris Bryant scratched from Thursday's lineup, Hoerner to leadoff |
This is not great news.
Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant has been scratched from Thursday's lineup against the Milwaukee Brewers because of "left ring finger and left wrist soreness" due to Wednesday's sliding catch in the outfield. After the play yesterday in the fifth inning, Bryant still was able to hit a 430-foot bomb before leaving the contest. Bryant is hitting .196 with two homers and a .706 OPS in 12 games. Ross: "Abundance of caution" with Bryant. Doesn't think the wrist/finger issue is serious. Check out the new lineup card for the Cubs including Nico Hoerner at leadoff and Kyle Schwarber back in the lineup at left field: Kris Bryant was scratched due to left ring finger and left wrist soreness.
