Cubs News: Maddon updates Anthony Rizzo's injury status |
Chicago Cubs standout first baseman
Anthony Rizzo won't start for the fourth straight game on Thursday night as he is dealing with a back issue since Sunday.
Victor Caratini will get the nod at first base against the Reds tonight. Rizzo was seen taking batting practice in pre-game and is about to be ready to get back in the lineup according to Cubs manager Joe Maddon. "He's doing good," Maddon said. "He's working on some things right now. He's feeling a lot better. I'm encouraged for this weekend. Tomorrow would be great, but I'm not 100 percent sure. I'll find out more when I go talk to him." Rizzo is batting .252 with 10 homers and 29 RBI this season. Will we see Anthony Rizzo back on the field when the #Cubs head to DC this weekend?
