WATCH: Maddon defends his bullpen after loss

The Cubs lost an 11-10 slugfest against the Rangers on Sunday to drop the series 2-1. The bullpen from the North Siders just didn't come through on Sunday as they had a poor showing for back to back games.

Cubs manager Joe Maddon talked to the media following his team's disappointing loss.

"When you lose leads, we do need to nip this in the bud," he said. "We got to get back right. I do anticipate our guys will. There is a lot of good names down there. Cishek and Chatwood were really good today. Monty is the one that struggled. Otherwise, the bullpen actually pitched pretty good. It was just one guy that had a tough time."

Cubs reliever Mike Montgomery served up a homer during the game and told the media that the team won't panic.

"We're not going to panic," he said. "We're just going to stay with it and stay with the process. We're not going to lose any confidence. We've got a good group of guys down there."
