On this edition of the Cubs Corner, presented by Coach’s Bar and Grill, Anthony welcomed reporter Mariah Guzman to the show to discuss general managers and the Cubs' future.

The pair first discussed the Miami Marlins new hire at general manager, Kim Ng. Ng is the first female general manager of any major sporting franchise in North America — and as a woman in sports, Mariah offered a unique insight into how much this move means moving forward for not only women in baseball but also sports in general.

Next, the conversation shifted to talking about Theo Epstein’s voluntary departure from the organization after nine years as president of baseball operations.

The chat went on about what Theo Epstein and his contributions to the organization have meant to both Anthony and Mariah as fans.

Next, the two talked about Jed Hoyer taking over as new president of baseball operations and discussed which, if any, of the core five players of Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Javier Baez, Kyle Schwarber, and Willson Contreras will get traded or resigned.

Finally, they recapped the end of season awards and gave their pitches for Yu Darvish and David Ross to have won their respective awards.

That and more on the Cubs Corner.

This episode, past, and future episodes are available on Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts, and the Cubs HQ website.
