Cubs "infuriated" with Bosio's comments on Eric Thames and PEDs

by - Senior Editor -

According to ESPN's Buster Olney, Cubs officials were "infuriated" with the comments from pitching coach Chris Bosio a week ago that implied Brewers' Eric Thames is using performance-enhancing drugs. Thames has hit 11 home runs in the Brewers' first 22 games.

"It’s just the wrong thing to do," one staffer told Olney.

Olney points out the Cubs to deal with the same sort of accusations in the past with Jake Arrieta after his CY Young year.

Thames never responded to Bosio directly but did say he has " plenty of blood and urine " for random drug tests.
