Another day and another transaction.

The Chicago Cubs have recalled pitcher James Norwood from Iowa and optioned Rowan Wick on Friday. This move is probably just to get a fresh arm in the bullpen for the Reds series as Norwood will be available today.

Norwood is 1-0 with three saves and a 4.95 ERA (11 ER/20.0 IP) in 15 relief outings with Iowa this year.

Last season, he had a 4.09 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 11 appearances for the Cubs. The 25-year old was drafted by the Cubs in the 7th round (199th pick) out of St. Louis University in the 2014 MLB Draft.

Wick has made one appearance this year for the Cubs giving up two hits and a run in one inning. In 13 relief appearances this season at Iowa, he has been impressive with a save and a 2.84 ERA.
