Chicago Cubs had a tough few games offensively of late as their standout third baseman Kris Bryant currently in a slump to start the season.

Cubs manager David Ross told the media that Bryant has been dealing with a jammed left wrist and finger issue after his attempted sliding catch in the outfield in Cleveland last week.

"I think he is battling a lot of things right now," he said. "It's hard to talk about swing when you want to have results. He definitely wants to have results, and he expects to be great. He's been a great player in his career. He's got some bumps and bruises and just trying to grind it out for the guys.

Ross appreciates Bryant trying to help out the ballclub despite not being 100 percent.

"I give him a lot of credit for that to be honest with you. It'd be easy for him to sit out till he feels 100 percent. He's not. He's out there grinding, playing good defense. His attitude's been good. We all are going to struggle, and that is what he is going through."

Bryant is currently batting .179 with a .274 on-base percentage for the season.
