'Hats to the left' is back for 2021.

Veteran pitcher Pedro Strop is back for one more run with the Chicago Cubs as a non-roster invitee for spring training.

Strop spoke with the media Wednesday afternoon, talking about his excitement to be back in Chicago.

"Man, It’s always fun when you go home," Strop said. "That’s what I consider the Cubs. This is my home. This is my house. Come over and see my guys, my teammates, and the staff. I'm just so happy to be back here."

Strop hopes that he can help contribute to a special team this season.

"I’m back, and hopefully, I can help this team do something special again this year."

Strop went on to say that he has lost over 20 pounds after dealing with multiple injuries at the alternate site last season.

In 2020, he had a 3.86 ERA in just four appearances with the Reds dealing with a groin injury.

Strop appeared in 411 games over the seven years in Chicago, pitching to a 2.90 ERA, struck out 425 batters in just 373 innings, and had 29 saves.

No other Cubs reliever in history besides Strop had six consecutive seasons with a sub-3.00 ERA.
