WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — The third annual MLB Little League Classic saw the Chicago Cubs (66-58) topple the Pittsburgh Pirates (51-72) by a final score of 7-1 at BB&T Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field on Sunday. Playing in front of an excitable crowd of little leaguers in town for the Little League World Series, the Cubs made their debut in the event and did not disappoint.

The North Siders hit three home runs on the night, including a mammoth 2-run blast from Anthony Rizzo that clanged off the scoreboard beyond left-center field. On the mound, starter Jose Quintana dominated in his seven innings of work for the Cubs, and the Pirates failed to get on the scoreboard until the bottom of the ninth. With the 7-1 win in the books, the Cubs took two of three from the Buccos to win the series.
