José was acquired from the White Sox, July 13, 2017, for four minor league prospects ... joins teammate Jon Lester as the only lefties to start at least 32 games in each of the last five campaigns ... has gone 57-57 with a 3.53 ERA (447 ER/1,139.2 IP) in 186-career major league appearances, all but three as a starter... Debuted with the White Sox in 2012 and went 50-54 with a 3.51 ERA (412 ER/1,055.1 IP) in 172 appearances, all but three as a starter on the South Side... Was named a 2016 A.L. All-Star ... finished 13-12 with a 3.20 ERA (74 ER/208.0 IP) in 32 starts in 2016... Since the start of the 2013 season, he ranks in the top 10 among all left-handed pitchers in games started (T-1st, 161), innings pitched (3rd, 1,003.1), strikeouts (7th, 907) and wins (10th, 51)... Pitched in the 2017 World Baseball Classic for Colombia ... made one start, allowing one run on just one hit in 5.2 innings pitched...
