by Tony Crumpton - Senior Editor -

MILWAUKEE -- Cubs shortstop Addison Russell was forced to leave Sunday's game against the Brewers in the fourth inning with a left heel contusion. Javier Baez replaced Russell after a quick chat with trainer PJ Mainville and manager Joe Maddon on the field.

Russell, who was 0-2 in the game before leaving, suffered the injury after fouling a ball off his foot on Saturday.
