Adam Warren is in his first season with the Cubs after he was acquired from the Yankees, December 8, 2015, along with a player to be named (INF Brendan Ryan) for infielder Starlin Castro ... owns a 3.39 ERA (109 ER/289.1 IP) along with a 13-15 record, 27 holds and five saves in 147 major league contests (20 starts) with the Yankees in all or part of the last four seasons dating to 2012. Over the last two seasons, has posted a 2.76 ERA (35 ER/114.0 IP) in 95 relief outings ... has held the opponent to one or zero runs in 88 of those appearances ... has posted a 3.66 ERA (39 ER/96.0 IP) in 17 starts during that span. Has made 34 relief appearances of at least 1.1 innings since the start of 2014, tied with Baltimore's Brad Brach for the second-most in the majors behind the Yankees Dellin Betances (46). Graduated from North Carolina with a degree in business administration ... went 32-4 with a 3.42 ERA and 240 strikeouts in 65 games (49 starts) in his collegiate career ... left school with the second-most wins by a Tar Heel and tied with Scott Bankhead for the school's highest winning percentage (.889). w Won his first 19 games at UNC, marking the longest UNC winning streak since Bankhead won 20 straight from 1983-84. Graduated fifth in his class from New Bern High School (N.C.), where he earned all-state honors as a junior in 2004 and as selected as the New Bern Sun Journal "Baseball Player of the Year.
