Rowan is in his fourth season in the Cubs organization after he was acquired from San Diego Nov. 20, 2018, for infielder Jason Vosler... In three seasons with Chicago since 2019, is 2-2 with 12 holds, 11 saves and a 3.18 ERA (26 ER/73.2 IP) ... has held opponents to a .210 average and a .591 OPS... Since making his major league debut with the Padres in 2018, has made 82 relief appearances, going 2-3 with 11 saves, 12 holds and a 3.51 ERA (32 ER/82.0 IP) with 37 walks and 91 strikeouts... Has gone 10-6 with 32 saves and a 2.77 ERA (57 ER/185.0 IP) in 165 minor league appearances, all in relief... Pitched for Team Canada in the 2017 World Baseball Classic ... also played for the Canadian Junior National Team at the 2010 IBAF World Baseball Championships... Was named a mid-season All-Star in 2016 (Florida State League) and 2018 (Texas League) .. was a post-season All-Star in 2013 (Appalachian League)... Transitioned from outfielder to pitcher during the 2015 season... 2021
In 2021, Rowan missed a majority of the season while coming back from a left oblique strain ... was on the Cubs' injured list, April 10-Aug. 10... Included injury rehab appearances with Single-A South Bend and Triple-A Iowa ... combined to make eight relief outings with a 6.14 ERA (5 ER/7.1 IP)... Made his season debut, Aug. 10 vs. Milwaukee (1.0 IP) ... went on to make 22 relief appearances and converted five of eight save opportunities... Recorded 11.35 strikeouts per 9.0 innings (29 SO/23.0 IP) and held the opponent scoreless in 16 of 22 outings... Three times tied a career mark with 2.0 scoreless innings of relief, last done Sept. 12 vs. the Giants.

2020
Rowan posted four saves and a 3.12 ERA (6 ER/17.1 IP) in 19 relief outings this season...was placed on the 10-day injured list, September 19 (retro to September 17), with a left oblique strain and missed the remainder of the season...Did not allow a run in 15 of his 19 appearances...allowed two runs in consecutive outings, August 22 vs. the White Sox and August 26 at Detroit...pitched to a 1.10 ERA (2 ER/16.1 IP) in his other 17 outings...Limited righties to a .243 average (9-for-37), while lefties batted .290 (9-for-31)…Collected four saves in a six-outing stretch from August 1-18...converted all four of his save chances.

2019
Rowan made four stints with the major league club, including from July 22 through the end of the season, as he developed into a reliable arm out of the Cubs bullpen...went 2-0 with two saves and five holds with a 2.43 ERA (9 ER/33.1 IP) in 31 games for Chicago...Was also with the major league club from May 22-23, June 15-22 and June 29-July 1...Held right-handed hitters to a .147 average (10-for-68) and a .433 OPS...left-handed hitters posted a .231 average (12-for-52) with a .652 OPS...Made 10 appearances in one-run games, pitching 9.2 shutout innings...Stranded 13 of 16 inherited runners...retired 26 of 31 first batters faced...Did not allow a run in his first nine games (8.2 IP) after being recalled July 22...Earned his first two-career wins in consecutive appearances, August 3 vs. Milwaukee and August 5 vs. Oakland...became the first Cubs reliever with wins in consecutive outings since Justin Wilson, June 30-July 3, 2018...Notched his first-career save, August 17 at Pittsburgh...retired all three batters he faced to preserve the 2-0 win...Struck out a career-high four batters in 2.0-scoreless innings, August 11 at Cincinnati...earned the hold in the 6-3 victory...Was 1-0 with six saves and a 1.80 ERA (7 ER/35.0 IP) in 27 relief appearances with Triple-A Iowa.

2018
Claimed off waivers by San Diego in February, Rowan excelled in the minors, posting a 2.67 ERA (16 ER/54.0 IP) in 49 relief outings ... made his major league debut, August 31 vs. Colorado (1.0 IP, 0 R), and appeared in 10 games for San Diego ... Did not allow a run in eight of his 10 outings with the Padres ... allowed six runs in 8.1 innings ... five of the runs came in one outing against Cincinnati, September 7 ... had a 1.29 ERA (1 ER/7.0 IP) in his other nine outings ... Converted 14-of-16 save chances with Double-A San Antonio and Triple-A El Paso ... Was named a mid-season All-Star with San Antonio ... Went 2-0 with a 1.99 ERA (5 ER/22.2 IP) in 20 games with El Paso.

2017
Combined with Memphis (AAA), Springfield (AA) and the GCL Cardinals (R) to post a 2-1 record with a 3.19 ERA and six saves in 34 relief appearances...Began the season with Memphis and went 1-1 with a 5.52 ERA (9 ER, 14.2 IP) from 4/7-5/29 across 12 relief outings...Made two separate stints on the seven-day DL with right shoulder tendonitis (5/12-25) and right bicep tendonitis (6/1-7/10)...Sent on a rehab assignment to the GCL Cards pm 6/3 for three relief appearances before being assigned to Springfield on 7/10...Converted all five of his saves opportunities in Springfield with a 2.08 ERA...scoreless in 14 of his 16 outings and limited hitters to a .208 average...Recalled by Memphis on 9/2 and made two relief appearances in the PCL playoffs, going 1-0 with a 6.75 ERA and three strikeouts...Pitched on consecutive days only once during the season while on rehab in the Gulf Coast League (7/8-9)...Represented Canada in the World Baseball Classic in March and made two relief appearances with a 5.40 ERA (1 ER, 1.2 IP).

Played his first full season as a pitcher and made 44 relief appearances between Palm Beach (A) and Springfield (AA)...Combined to post a 2-0 record with a 2.64 ERA over 44.1 innings with 57 strikeouts...Ranked among Cardinals minor league pitchers with 44 appearances (T9th) and strikeouts/9 IP (11.57, 4th)...Earned his first professional win in his first appearance of the season vs. Charlotte (4/7) with a scoreless inning of relief...Nailed down six saves over his last nine appearances in Palm Beach...Did not allow an earned run over nine appearances at Roger Dean Stadium covering 10.1 innings...Struck out a batter in 35 of his 44 appearances...Registered a 27.3 Inherited Runners Scored percentage (11 IR/3 S)...Held right-handed batters to a .163 BA (16-98) without a home run and 34 strikeouts...Was on the 7-day disabled list 7/26-8/5 due to skin condition...Made nine relief appearances for Glendale in the Arizona Fall League going 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA in 10.0 IP with eight strikeouts. Made a relief appearance in the Rising Stars All-Star Game and threw two-thirds of a scoreless inning.

2015
Converted to pitcher after playing in 33 games at Palm Beach (A) in the outfield...made three appearances at Gulf Coast League covering 2.0 IP allowing two runs...batted .198 with three HRs and 16 RBI.

2014
Ranked 8th among all minor league players with 13.00 AB/HR and 7th in slugging percentage (.608)...set the State College (A) franchise home run record with 10 in his first 19 games of the season...tied for the New York-Penn League lead with 14 home runs and three intentional walks... led all Cardinals minor leaguers in slugging (.608) and OPS (.990) and ranked in the Top 10 in batting (.292, 8th), home runs (20, T3rd) and RBI (60, T5th)...named New York-Penn League Player of the Week 6/13-23 batting .343 (12-35) with 7 HR, 11 RBI, 9 runs scored and a slugging pct of .972...had three multi-homer games (6/13, 6/16, 6/25)...reached base safely via hit or walk in 34-of-35 games at State College.

2013
Ranked T2nd in the Appalachian League with 10 home runs and 3rd in home runs/AB (20.70)...ranked 7th among Cardinals minor leaguers with a .464 slugging pct.
